What Are Some Alternatives to Air Conditioning?

Air conditioning is something that is great on a hot day since you will feel cool and comfortable.
While air conditioning is nice there are some who can't afford it, some who don't have an air conditioning unit, and some who are concerned about not using them because of environmental issues.
There are some alternatives that can help you out.
First of all to be realistic, no alternative is going to feel as good as air conditioning.
They are more coping methods than something that will completely replace your air conditioning.
At night open your windows and use fans to suck in the cooler air.
In the morning shut these windows.
What this does is get the cooler air into your home so that you can feel a bit cooler during the day.
Insulate your home properly.
With enough insulation, you can lower the internal temperature of your home during the day.
Additionally, if you have a basement, this is insulate very well so enjoy that part of your home during the hot part of the day.
During the day when the sunlight is shining into your home, use heavy blankets blocking out the light.
This will help you feel a bit cooler indoors.
Use cooling pads on your wrists and your neck.
These are products that are designed to help cool your blood.
This is a way of making your core temperature go down a bit so you can feel better.
Drink plenty of water.
When it's hot you are going to need more water in your body to help stay hydrated.
When you are hydrated getting cool water into your body, you are going to feel better.
Take cool showers throughout the day.
Each shower will make you feel cooler since the body's temperature will go down a bit after the shower.
This helps control sweating and gives you some relief as opposed to just sweating and being hot.
Air conditioning is a nice accessory to have in your home.
Some people don't have one or can't afford running it.
Find out some alternatives to air conditioning that will help you stay cool.
