- 1). Install the drain baskets (if needed) according to the manufacturer's instruction. Secure the water supply lines to the sink faucet and then install the faucet to the sink. Two mounting nuts are provided with the faucet. Slip them over the tailpieces where the water supply lines connect and tighten them with your hand. Pliers are not needed for this.
- 2). Locate the underside of the kitchen sink bowls and notice where the house plumbing (drain and water) enters the cabinet. Secure the water supply lines to the shut off valves with the proper wrench (usually 3/8 to ½-inch).
- 3). Insert the long drain line into the house drain and secure it in place with the provided nut. This should protrude about 3 or 4 inches into the cabinet on the side of the sink not getting the garbage disposal. Next, install the "Y" drainpipe on the end of the pipe just installed. This is where the drain from the garbage disposal ties into the main drain.
- 4). Install the garbage disposal according to manufacturer's instructions. Be certain the power to the electrical connect is turned off. Install the drainpipe from the garbage disposal to the "Y" drainpipe and secure it with the nut provided. Next, install the tailpiece to the bottom of the drain basket on the remaining sink bowl. This piece may need to be cut depending on how high the house drainpipe is in the wall.
- 5). Install the P-trap next by slipping the nuts and washers on the already installed drainpipe. Slip the P-trap in place and secure it to the tailpiece and the "Y" drainpipe. Check all connections, turn the water on and let it run through the drain to check for leaks.
