1). Make sure all of the control knobs are turned to the "Off" position and lift off the grates over the burners.
2). Make sure the gas supply is on. Lift the cook top up until you can easily access the inner workings.
3). Locate the pilot ports--two metal tubes that stick up through the surface between two open-ended pipes.
4). Strike a match and position the flame above the port, between the two pipes. The gas supply in the pilot port should ignite. Repeat the process for the other port.
5). Make sure the flame is about 5/16 inch high and blue with a slight yellow tip. If not, adjust it by turning the adjustment screw, beneath the control knob, with a flat-head screwdriver until the flame is the proper size.

2). Locate the pilot port at the back of the broiler compartment, about 1 inch below the burner pipe.
