- 1). Make sure all of the control knobs are turned to the "Off" position and lift off the grates over the burners.
- 2). Make sure the gas supply is on. Lift the cook top up until you can easily access the inner workings.
- 3). Locate the pilot ports--two metal tubes that stick up through the surface between two open-ended pipes.
- 4). Strike a match and position the flame above the port, between the two pipes. The gas supply in the pilot port should ignite. Repeat the process for the other port.
- 5). Make sure the flame is about 5/16 inch high and blue with a slight yellow tip. If not, adjust it by turning the adjustment screw, beneath the control knob, with a flat-head screwdriver until the flame is the proper size.
- 1). Turn all control knobs to "Off" and make sure the gas supply is turned on. Remove the broiler drawer.
- 2). Locate the pilot port at the back of the broiler compartment, about 1 inch below the burner pipe.
- 3). Strike a long match and position the flame just above the pilot port but away from the burner. The gas in the port should ignite. The oven pilot needs no adjustment.
