- 1). Set up the welding machine to deliver somewhere between 1 and 1.5 amps per one thousandth of an inch. This is very hot, but it is needed for stainless steel to weld correctly.
- 2). Place the two sheets of stainless steel that you want to weld together in the position that you want to weld them and touch them with your welder in quick, less than one second bursts. This will create a spot weld that will hold the two pieces together. Apply at least five spot welds.
- 3). Run the welder in a straight line across the area that you are welding. Run the welder so that it isn't in one place for more than about a tenth of a second until you've welded the two pieces together.
