- 1). Using a pair of scissors, cut a piece from the MonoKote paper large enough to cover a side of your model plane part plus the part's edge.
- 2). Remove the protective covering from the cut piece of MonoKote paper, exposing the sticky half of the paper containing the heat activated adhesive. Place the paper onto the body of the aircraft part with the sticky half facing the part.
- 3). Turn the iron on to 275 degrees F, and wait a few minutes for it to reach the required temperature.
- 4). Run the iron over the MonoKote until it sticks securely onto the part. Start the heat application from a corner of the part, and work over the edges of the part until securely placed. Once the edges are secured, run the iron over the rest of the part working from the edges towards the center. As you move the iron over the MonoKote, pull the paper tightly over the aircraft part to prevent wrinkles from forming.
- 5). Place a second piece of MonoKote paper onto the other side of the aircraft part and repeat the ironing process, sandwiching the part with the MonoKote.
- 6). Cut the excess MonoKote paper from the edge of the aircraft part, leaving enough paper remaining on the part to overlap the edges.
- 7). Apply the iron to the edge pieces of the MonoKote, folding the edge of the paper over the edge of the part as you lightly drag the iron over the paper edges. Overlap both pieces of the MonoKote completing the coverage of the model part.
