- 1). Cut each piece of scrap plastic and aluminum into 3 1/2-inch by 1-inch squares.
- 2). Glue one piece of plastic scrap to one piece of aluminum scrap. Push the ends of the epoxy tubes until a small dab of each tube is placed on the scrap pieces and then press them together.
- 3). Clamp the pieces together using a simple clamp. Allow the scrap pieces to sit clamped overnight. Repeat with each scrap piece and allow to sit overnight. Make sure you know which epoxy glued each sample.
- 4). Test each of the samples in the morning to see which epoxy holds up the best. Try to peel them apart. If they all come apart easily, then pick some new epoxy glues. If they all hold together firmly, then choose the epoxy with the lowest price for your project.
- 5). Use the epoxy that you've chosen to spread on your project pieces of plastic and aluminum. If it is a rather large piece, you can use an old paintbrush to spread both parts of the epoxy on one layer. When finished, immediately soak the paintbrush in a mixture of mild detergent, warm water and a small amount of acetone.
- 6). Press the two pieces together and clamp them overnight.
