- 1). Identify the model of Ryobi battery that you have. Locate the voltage on the side or bottom of the battery. You can also go to the Ryobi tool website and look at the model pictures (see References). You will need the corresponding model charger to charge your battery.
- 2). Place the Ryobi battery into the clearly identifiable location in the battery charger. Depending upon the battery model, this will be an oval, square or a rectangular hole in the charger. The battery will only fit in one way and you can also identify this by matching up the positive and negative indicators.
- 3). Plug the battery charger into an electric outlet. An indicator light will turn on to show the battery is charging successfully. The light will turn green when your Ryobi battery is fully charged. More sophisticated battery charger models have a diagnostic readout to show the battery charge.
