This sweet fellow is Alexi, or his fancy name is Emjoys Whitey Alexi. He has also earned the name Fast Boy, since he zips around the house, messing up the throw rugs. He is a pure-bred Russian Blue, five years old, and comes from a long line of grand champions. That's nice, but much nicer and more important to us is his sweet, loving disposition.
The breeder, not us, picked out our kitten. We had told her about our cat Sasha, who was twelve at the time.

She chose Alexi for us, because he was the "leader of the pack" kitten. She said an older female would dominate a quiet kitten too much. Sasha would need a buddy who would give as much as he would get. (On the other had, she said the quiet kitten would go to a lady who had no other pet for competition, and so on.)

Well, that is exactly what happened. After a rough start, they soon became great buddies. Now they tease and chase each other around the house. Sasha's activity level really picked up! When they are exhausted, Alexi will plop down in front of Sasha, and poke his nose at her face. Sasha then licks his face and ears, and they doze. I"m so glad we got him.
