- 1). Lay a 10-foot-long, 2-by-8-inch board across two saw horses, and make a pencil mark at 42 inches using a measuring tape. Use a speed square and make a line across the board on the pencil mark. Adjust the base of the circular saw to cut at a 45-degree angle, and cut across the mark to end up with 42-inch and 78-inch pieces. Repeat the same steps on a second 10-foot-long, 2-by-8-inch board.
- 2). Lay an 8-foot-long, 2-by-8-inch board across the saw horses, and make a pencil mark at 24 inches using a measuring tape. Use a speed square and make a line across the board on the pencil mark. Cut across the mark with the circular saw at a 45-degree angle. Take the remaining 72-inch piece, and measure from the end opposite the 45-degree cut to 12 inches and mark with a pencil and speed square. Adjust the base of the circular saw to cut at 90 degrees, and cut along the line. Repeat the same steps on a second 8-foot-long, 2-by-8-inch board.
- 3). Use one of the 12-inch pieces left over from the cuts, and make marks with a pencil and speed square at 2 and 4 inches. Cut on the lines with a circular saw to end up with two 2-inch pieces. You will used these as tire stops for the ramps.
- 4). Assemble one ramp, starting with a 78-inch cut board on the bottom, keeping the longer side of the 45-degree-angle cut at the bottom. Lay a 60-inch board on next, keeping the square ends and sides butted together and the longer end on the 45-degree-angle cut at the bottom. Attach the two boards with 2 1/2-inch galvanized wood screws placed at 8-inch intervals, and drive them in with an electric drill and Phillips-head attachment. Place 42-inch and then 24-inch boards on next in the same fashion, keeping the square ends and the sides butted together while drilling.
- 5). Finish off the ramp with a 2-inch piece on the top end, keeping it even with the squared-off ends of the other four boards. Attach with three 2 ½-inch galvanized screws evenly spaced, and drive them in with a drill and Phillips-head attachment.
- 6). Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the second ramp.
