Self esteem can be damaged in many different ways. You could have lost your job or worst the last few jobs, your soul mate might of left you, you might of failed in opening your own business or possibly you were raised without people skills or character. Whatever your reason is, you need help and I will share some tips with you that hopefully will help you overcoming your low self esteem.Â
To begin, it is important that you understand building your self esteem is a process and you will not get better overnight. Some self proclaim experts claim they can help you in short amount of time. Typically, people don't have self esteem issues overnight. It is usually a process that took a long time to get where you are today so healing or fixing your self esteem will also take time.Â
#1: You want to make yourself feel better about yourself so let's start with small steps. Make a list of items you have to do at the beginning of each day (or the night before) like grocery, post office, school, work, exercise etc. and cross off each item as you are accomplishing them. By seeing with your own eyes what you accomplished, this will automatically help give you a sense of accomplishment and importance. You will feel like you did something each day.
#2: Once you accomplished this task for 2 weeks, it is time to go to step 2. Make a goal to achieve something that will enhance your life or someone else life. Personally, I like would rather if you give to somebody else because there is nothing like the feeling of giving and being appreciated by someone because of what we did. If you want, you can start with yourself but make sure to give to someone in needs.
#3: Are you happy with the way you look? If you are great, but if you are not, it is time to make a plan that will help you rectify this. Now if you think you are overweight and need to lose a few pounds than do some research and find a healthy diet and start exercising. If you think there is something wrong with your appearance, go buy some new clothes, get your hair done. This is automatic; it will boost your self confidence.
 .
#5: Trial and errors are just part of life. Too many times people try something new once but if they failed, they don't try again. It is just human nature to not want to fail but having failed at something once, twice or even more but later you succeed at the same task will make you feel 6 inches taller. So view your failures as opportunities and just try again each time you don't succeed until you do.Â
#6: Last but very important is who are you surrounded by? Who are you hanging out with? Are your friends negative, lack self esteem, do they complain about the way they look? Are they like you right now? If they answer is yes, it will be very difficult for you to fight your low self esteem because of the negativity around you. The answer is simple but a difficult one to commit to, find new people to surround yourself with. Find people with high self esteem, that are positive and are trying to do something to make things around them better. Think about this, if you want to make 1 million dollars today, would you ask your co-worker how to make it or someone who already has made 1 million? The answer is obvious so find people with self esteem so you can have self esteem again.
