- 1). Unplug the AV receiver's power cord, and disconnect the turntable from its power source before you perform any cable connections. This is just a precautionary measure to guard against accidental electrical shock.
- 2). Plug the one end of the red RCA audio cable into the turntable's red RCA line out jack (sometimes labeled "R" for Right audio signal). Plug one end of the white RCA audio cable into the turntable's white RCA line out jack (sometimes labeled "L" for Left audio signal).
- 3). Look on the back of the AV receiver. There should be several columns of jacks. Each column is dedicated to a specific type of audio or audio/video device. For example, one column may be reserved for a CD player or CD recorder device. Another column of jacks may be reserved for a DVD player device. Each column is labeled. Look for the column labeled "Phono." If your AV receiver does not have a column with this label, don't worry. The column labels merely function as suggestions. You can actually connect your turntable to any column which has RCA audio jacks. If a "Phono" column is not available, pick another available column.
- 4). Connect the other end of each RCA audio cable (from step 2) into the AV receiver's RCA line in jacks, which are reserved for the turntable. Remember, each plug needs to match the color of the jack it's inserted into.
- 5). Plug the AV receiver's power cord into a wall outlet or power strip. Plug the turntable's power cord into a wall outlet or power strip.
