- 1). Write down the model number of your GE Hotpoint dishwasher. The model number is usually on the inside door jamb of the dishwasher. Give a service representative the model number of your GE Hotpoint dishwasher when you order the replacement lower rack.
- 2). Open the dishwasher door and pull the old lower rack out of the unit. Pull it straight out on its rollers, and when it's fully extended, lift it up and out.
- 3). Align the new rack so that it will sit in the dishwasher the same was as the old one. Insert the new rack into the dishwasher with the rear of the rack slightly in the dishwasher and the rest of the rack over the door. Ensure that the wheels line up on the door and dishwasher bay roller guide and roll over the raised portion at the bottom of the Hotpoint. Close the dishwasher door.
