- 1). Eat healthy foods. Eat foods rich in iron and vitamins A and B. Foods containing iron include beef, dried apricots, red meat, eggs, wheat and sunflower seeds. Foods rich in vitamin A include dark green vegetables and yellow fruits. Foods rich in vitamin B include green leafy vegetables, yogurt, cereals, cauliflower, tomatoes and bananas.
- 2). Brush your hair often. Use a natural bristle brush to brush your hair often. This will remove the loose hairs.
- 3). Use natural shampoos and conditioners. Try using a shampoo with ginseng in it. Avoid shampoos and conditioners containing sodium lauryl sulfate and fragrances.
- 4). Reduce your stress. If you reduce the amount of stress in your life, you may see a decrease in the number of gray hairs on your head. Try to relax for a little while each day, whether it's a few minutes or a few hours. You can meditate or get a massage. You may even want to just sit back and listen to some music or read a good book. Exercise may also help to reduce your stress.
- 5). Drink lots of water. Drinking water helps everything, and will help to keep your body and hair healthy. Try to drink at least eight glasses a day.
