- 1). Squirt some detergent into your bucket, about the size of a quarter and fill the bucket half-way with water.
- 2). Dip your rag into the bucket and wipe the front of the rim. Make sure you wipe the front of the rim and around the edges near the tire.
- 3). Reach around and behind the tire and wipe down the back of the rim as well. The back of the rim is often neglected by enthusiasts, but that is where dirt often does the most damage to rims in the form of pits and scratches in the chrome plating.
- 4). Dry the rims completely by wiping with a dry towel.
