- 1). Remove the thermostat from the wall by pressing the thumb latch at the bottom of the thermostat and swinging it up and away from the wall if you see a low battery warning on the screen. Open the battery compartment and replace the old batteries with two AA alkaline batteries. Mount the thermostat back to the wall.
- 2). Check the mode setting if you're heating unit isn't producing heat. Slide the "System Mode Switch" to the "HEAT" position. In the "HEAT" mode, a flame icon appears to the right of the current room temperature. The icon flashes when heating is active.
- 3). Make sure the fan switch is in the "ON" or "AUTO" position if you don't feel the heat. In the "AUTO" mode, the fan runs automatically as required for heating, whereas in the "ON" mode, the fan runs continuously.
- 4). Press the "UP" or "DOWN" arrow buttons and increase the set-point temperature if your unit still isn't heating. Select a temperature setting that's higher than the room temperature displayed on your thermostat's screen.
- 5). Replace your furnace's filter if the filter usage monitor appears on your screen. Changing filters varies with different furnaces, so refer to your unit's manual.
