- 1). Place a pan large enough to hold five gallons of coolant under the engine's radiator. Open the petcock on the engine's radiator with pliers and drain the coolant into the drain pan. Close the petcock once drained.
- 2). Locate the smaller radiator behind the larger radiator and open the petcock on that radiator with pliers. Drain the coolant from the smaller radiator into the drain pan. Close the petcock once drained.
- 3). Loosen the metal clamping nuts that secure the sending and return transmission cooler lines to the side of the radiator with an open-ended wrench. Pull the lines off of the radiator.
- 4). Follow both lines until you locate the mounting point on the transmission housing. Loosen the metal clamping nuts that secure the sending and return transmission cooler lines to the side of the transmission housing with an open-ended wrench. Pull the lines off of the transmission housing.
