- 1). Open the Saab's hood and remove the black ground terminal from the battery. Use a socket wrench to remove the terminal.
- 2). Pop out the clips that secure the CD player, using a flat-head screwdriver, and pry it out. Disconnect its electrical connections.
- 3). Use a stereo removal tool to release the stereo securing pins and pull the unit out of the dashboard. Disconnect the electrical connections of the stereo.
- 4). Pry off the metal frame that secures the stereo, using a flat-head screwdriver to lift off the four corner latches.
- 5). Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry out the headlamp switch and the hood-release panel.
- 6). Adjust the steering wheel to its bottom position and remove the two screws from the steering column covers, using a cross-head screwdriver. Remove both covers.
- 7). Pry off the clips from the combination switch. Disconnect the electrical connection and remove it from the steering column.
- 8). Remove the nine screws that secure the dashboard, using a cross-head screwdriver -- there is one screw under the headlight switch, one under the instrument brightness switch, one above the CD player slot, two under there stereo and four along the top of the dashboard.
- 9). Pry off the dashboard, using a flat-head screwdriver. Disconnect its electrical connection and remove it from the vehicle.
