How to Stop the Rattle in the Front Doors of a Four Door Jeep Wrangler

    • 1). Open the door of the Jeep Wrangler on the side where the rattle seems to be coming from.

    • 2). Locate the metal latch to which the door of the vehicle actually latches when closed. This will be a small, U-shaped piece of metal attached to the right-hand side of the vehicle, about halfway up from the bottom of the door opening.

    • 3). Tear off about 3 to 4 inches of electrical tape. Begin wrapping the tape around the front side of the "U" latch. The latch has three sides; wrap the one closest to you. Keep the wraps tight and concentrate on keeping the area to the front of the latch covered.

    • 4). Close the door of the Jeep to check for fit. If the door is too difficult to close, simply remove a small amount of the tape to adjust. The same holds true if there does not seem to be enough tape on the latch.

    • 5). While at the same side of the vehicle, move to the rear door opening and repeat the procedure, taping the latch with electrical tape in the same manner as the front. Once again, check for fit by closing the door of the vehicle.

    • 6). Test-drive the vehicle by driving over rough surfaces or areas in which the rattle has been most prone to occur. The rattle should now be gone. If not, you may need to adjust the amount of tape on one or both latches.
