- 1). Unplug the power cord from the electrical socket.
- 2). Remove the screws on the right and left ends of the control console. Pivot the control console backward so it rests on its hinges.
- 3). Disconnect the electrical plug under the control console.
- 4). Insert the tip of the flat-blade screwdriver into the metal clips holding the top panel of the Kenmore 70 washer in place. Pry the clips up to remove them.
- 5). Lift the cabinet up and away from the base. Set the cabinet out of the way.
- 6). Unhook the metal springs connected to the motor assembly.
- 7). Remove the bolts securing the motor to the motor assembly with the socket wrench. Unplug the electrical connector from the motor assembly.
- 8). Remove the motor from the motor assembly. Slide the old belt off the motor and pulley system.
- 9). Position the new belt around the motor and pulleys. Adjust the belt so it rests in the grooves on each pulley.

Plug the electrical connector back into the motor assembly. Replace the motor into the motor assembly. Replace the bolts that hold the motor in place. - 11
Hook the metal springs back onto the motor assembly. - 12
Replace the washing machine cabinet onto the base. Fasten the metal clips on the top panel. - 13
Pull the control console back into its original position. Replace the two screws that hold the console down.
