- 1). Slide the 499 tip onto the VersaTip multipurpose tool attachment head. Turn the tip clockwise until tight.
- 2). Plug the unit in and turn the unit on. Set the multipurpose tool in its base and wait 10 minutes for it to become hot.
- 3). Grab the tool by the handle and hold it like a pencil. Make your cuts slowly and precisely. Note that you may have to allow a few seconds for the hot knife to burn through the material.
- 4). Turn the unit off and allow it to cool. Remove the tip and clean it if needed using metal-cleaning solution.
