- 1). Locate the fuel filter near the gas tank of your car. Use the crescent wrenches to remove the mounting hardware, holding it to the frame of the car.
- 2). Use the screwdriver to unscrew the fuel line leading from the fuel filter to the engine and pull the filter free.
- 3). Have your assistant turn the ignition to the "Accessories On" position and allow the fuel pump to pump some fuel through the filter and into your catch pan. Do this two to three more times and then reattach the fuel line to the fuel filter.
- 4). Remount the fuel filter onto the frame of the car and start the vehicle up.
