- 1). Loosen the mounting bolt at the bottom of the front of the alternator with a wrench.
- 2). Loosen the mounting bolt at the top of the front of the alternator with a wrench.
- 3). Loosen the adjusting bolt on the top of the left side of the alternator with a wrench until the alternator belt is slackened.
- 4). Pull the alternator belt off the pulley on the front of the alternator and off the pulley on the end of the crankshaft.
- 5). Position one end of the new belt around the belt groove within the crankshaft pulley, then position the opposite end of the belt within the groove on the alternator's pulley.
- 6). Tighten the adjusting bolt on the top of the left side of the alternator to 60 ft-lbs. of torque with a torque wrench to tighten the belt.
- 7). Tighten the mounting bolt at the top of the front of the alternator, as well as the mounting bolt at the bottom of the front of the alternator, to 45 ft-lbs. of torque with a torque wrench.
