- 1). Pull the power cord out of the electrical outlet before you start work on the machine. Remove the screws from the control panel at the front using a Phillips screwdriver. Flip the control panel up and around to the back of the washing machine. Unplug the wiring harness under the control panel.
- 2). Release the retaining clips under the control panel using a flat-tip screwdriver. This will release the main cabinet of the washing machine from the frame. Tilt the cabinet forward and remove it from the frame. Locate the old drain pump at the front of the machine near the bottom. Release the retaining clips from the pump using a flat-tip screwdriver.
- 3). Remove the pump from the motor shaft by wiggling it until it is free. Place the pump on some old rags and release the hose clamps using a pair of channel-lock pliers. Pull the hoses off the pump and clean up any water spillage with the rags.
