- 1). Check that the door is completely closed. The self-cleaning feature will not start if the oven door is not closed, as the high temperature emitted during the self-cleaning process is dangerous.
- 2). Push "Delay Start" to check the start time for the oven, and use the numeric keypad to enter the new start time for the oven's self-cleaning process. Press "Start" to enter the new start time for the self-cleaning feature to activate.
- 3). Check the control panel on the front of the oven to see if the "Door Locked" icon is visible. The oven automatically locks the door during the self-cleaning process, and will not open if it is in the middle of cleaning the inside of the oven. If the "Door Locked" icon is visible, the oven door cannot be opened until the self-cleaning cycle is finished or canceled.
- 4). Press "Stop" during a self-cleaning cycle to stop the oven's cleaning process, and open the oven door one hour after the cycle has stopped. The stop button interrupts the self-cleaning process, and must be pressed if fire or smoke appears to be coming from the oven during the cleaning process.
- 5). Wipe up excessive spillovers in the oven with a soft cleaning cloth if fire or smoke continuously emits while self-cleaning. The self-cleaning process is able to eliminate minor spillovers, but a large amount of liquid in the oven can result in fire.
- 6). Press and hold "7" on the oven's control panel until it beeps once. Press "Start" to confirm the oven's factory restore settings. Restoring the oven's factory settings reverts the display mode and self-cleaning timer to the default settings, and corrects problems related to the oven's timer.
