- 1). Open and launch your iTunes media player on your desktop and insert your music CD into your computer's disc drive.
- 2). Click on the CD tab on the left side of your iTunes player and select "Burn CD" from the bottom of the screen. Allow around 10 minutes for the disc to burn to your iTunes library.
- 3). Select "Music" from your iTunes menu once your disc has imported and right-click on a song that you would like to use as a ringtone.
- 4). Click "Get Into" in the pop-up menu and select "Options" in the next menu window.
- 5). Change the "Starting Time" and "Ending Time" of your song in the "Options" menu to a clip of less than 40 seconds. This is the length allowed by most cellphones for ringtones. Click "OK."
- 6). Select "Edit," "Preferences" and "Import Settings" in the upper menu of iTunes.
- 7). Click "Import Using: AAC Encoder" in the "Import Settings" and click "OK."
- 8). Right-click on your song again and select "Create AAC Version" in the pop-up menu. This will create a new version of your clip in Advanced Audio Coding format, which is ringtone-compatible. Place it in your library directly under the orginal. You can now load your new clip to your phone as a ringtone.
