- 1). Register your television after purchase (if necessary), and save the relevant warranty information (with original receipt). Determine what your first course of action can be, according to the terms of your warranty, if you have an issue with your TV, after ensuring it is still within the covered period of time.
- 2). Contact the overseer of the warranty and explain the issue. The representative will access your information and explain your options. For minor issues, and for first occurrences of larger issues, repair will often be their offered solution. Most warranties will cover problems due to defects in materials or workmanship, normal wear and tear or other damages not resulting from misuse of the product.
- 3). Provide documentation of the problem and follow the process required by the warranty company to confirm that problem. The television may need to be taken to an authorized service center to determine the cause and severity of the issue, as well as how the company will proceed to rectify that issue.
- 4). Follow the steps required by the warranty company to obtain a replacement model, if they determine the product cannot be repaired. This determination is at the discretion of the company; they will not replace the TV, if repair is an option. They may also decide to replace your TV not with the same model, but one of comparable quality and specification or of equal value to your TV at that time.
