- 1). Unscrew the retaining bolts on the vents of the pop-up's roof. Gently pry the vent off the top of the camper. For the installation process, it is easier to leave the pop-up camper roof down.
- 2). Align the AC unit to the vent. Drill out any holes needed to mount the AC unit to the roof. Use the metal arms on the base of the AC unit as a guide for placing the screw holes. Mark them on the roof, then drill them out. Slide all wiring and the thermostat down through the vent and into the camper cabin.
- 3). Drill the retaining screws through the AC unit brackets to the roof. Seal the holes and the side of the vent-AC unit with the silicone caulk. Raise the pop-up roof.
- 4). Go inside the pop-up and direct the wires to the thermostat control on the wall of the camper.
- 5). Remove the thermostat housing and attach the wires to the AC-dedicated plates. Attach the white grounding wire to the grounding plate to ensure a safe installation. Plug the AC unit into the camper's electrical system. Turn the unit on to test the installation.
