What to Do About Mosquito Issues While Camping

Camping can be a fun experience when done properly.
One thing that can completely ruin a night out camping is insect problems.
One of the worst offenders are mosquitoes.
They can make the outdoor experience not quite as pleasant as it could be.
Fortunately there are some things that you can do to help with these issues while you are camping.
The first thing to consider, especially if you don't like mosquitoes at all, is to camp in places where there should be less of them.
Stay away from bodies of water or swamp areas.
Try to camp in a place that is much dryer than others.
Also be sure to look for camp grounds that are regularly treated for mosquito and insect problems.
These will still have some mosquitoes but not as many as there would have been.
Use repellents in the area you camp at.
There are repellents that you can use on your skin as well as ones that are used in the area like certain candles that repel mosquitoes.
These won't take care of the entire problem, but will help.
Use mosquito netting.
One problem is being bit while sleeping.
Mosquito netting will help you keep them and other insects away from you while you sleep.
Make sure it's not resting against your skin else it will do nothing to protect you.
It has to be away from your body to provide the benefits it is designed to do.
Build a fire and stay near the fire.
While you can still get bit, it is less likely when near the fire.
Keep your tent sealed up and closed.
This will prevent mosquitoes and other insects from getting inside as easily and will make your night's sleep much better.
Be sure to wear longer clothing that covers more of the body at dusk.
This is when mosquitoes are most active.
You might feel a little warmer than you would like to be, but it will help you not get bit as much.
