- 1). Launch Windows Live Mail if you have it installed on your computer. If you do not have it installed, download and install it (see Resources).
- 2). Click the Windows "Start" button and click "All Programs." Scroll up to the Windows Live folder and click "Live Mail."
- 3). Click "Add Email Account" on the main interface. Type in the email address and password of the email account you want to add.
- 4). Place a check on "Manually configure server settings for this account and click "Next." Select the incoming server for the email account you're adding. Depending on the email provider, it may be IMAP, POP3 or HTTP. Check with your email provider to find out the right setting.
- 5). Type your incoming email server settings and the security settings and click "Finish" to complete the setup and configuration. Move to the next step to add a newsgroup.
- 6). Click the "Newsgroup" button on the left panel and click "Add newsgroup account." Type in a name for your newsgroup and click "Next."
- 7). Type in the email address where users can get in contact with you and click "Next."
- 8). Type the name of the news server you want to connect to, such as news.google.com, and click "Next." Type in a username and password if the news server you are using requires one. Click "Finish" to complete the setup and configuration.
