- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Double-click the "Windows Firewall" icon.
- 2). Click the "On (Recommended)" option and clear the checkbox labeled "Don't allow exceptions."
- 3). Click the "Exceptions" tab. Click the checkbox labeled "Remote Desktop." This enables remote desktop sharing requests to pass through the computer's firewall. Press "Ok" and close the firewall configuration window.
- 4). Double-click the "System" icon in the Control Panel opened in step one. Click the "Remote" tab.
- 5). Check the box that is labeled "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer." Click the "Ok" button to save the changes.
