- 1). Decide the theme. Will the birthday party have a beach, pirate, princess, casino or superhero theme? Do a quick search for printables that match that theme before getting started. Printables for pirate or beach themed parties are easier to find than printables for Nascar themed parties. The availability of themed printables can be a deciding factor in which theme you choose.
- 2). Create invitations for the birthday party. Invitations create the first impression of the birthday party. Printables can help convey the theme of the party along with vital information like date, time, and location. There are plenty of printable invitations online, but don’t forget digital scrapbook kits and Microsoft Office templates as potential resources. Printer manufacturers often have great printables on their sites as well.
- 3). Create banners, streamers and goody bags from printables you find online. A search for “printable birthday party banners” will reveal many banners to choose from. Banners can also be created and customized using templates in Microsoft Office. Streamers can be created by printing out theme related clip art, cutting it apart and stringing it together. Goody bags can be coordinated to the party’s theme by printing out theme related clip art, cutting out the images and gluing the images to paper lunch bags. Some websites provide printable goody bag templates that can be cut out and constructed with just scissors and glue. Also consider using printable gift box templates instead of goody bags.
- 4). Decorate the table with cup rings, napkin rings, and place cards. Small touches like cup and napkin rings can make a birthday party look put together. Printable cup rings or cup wraps can be found online or can be created from clip art used in previous decorations. Print the wrapper or image that you will be using for a wrapper, cut to the size of the cup and secure around the cup with glue or double sided tape. Napkin rings can be created in the same manner. Place cards can be made from clip art or created from the same pattern used for the invitations.
- 5). Create a table centerpiece to pull the entire look together. Printable paper toys can make awesome centerpieces. Printer manufacturers often have a variety of paper toys for download on their websites from flower arrangements made out of paper to pirate ships and animals. Sometimes several smaller three dimensional paper objects clustered together or strewn about the table are as visually impressive as one large object.
