- Make crazy party hats for the preschoolers. Take basic colored party hats and add your own decorations to the hats. Use craft supplies like beads, marabou, glitter pens, tinsel, silk flowers and googly eyes. Fill the party hats with candy and small toys for added fun. Give the children a small favor bag to keep their goodies in because they might want to wear the hats. Create your own party hats by cutting poster board into squares and rolling the squares into cone shapes. Cover the poster board in fabric or paint a thin layer of glue on it and sprinkle with glitter.
- Preschoolers love surprises, so create surprise party favors by filling black bags with favors like stickers, candy, temporary tattoos and jewelry. Close and tape each bag so the children can't see what's inside the bag. Allow each child to choose one bag. Another surprise idea is to fill black balloons with the favors. Give each child a balloon and have him sit on the balloon to pop it and gather his favors. Be sure to pick up small balloon pieces after the balloons pop to prevent a choking hazard for small children.
- Photos make perfect party favors for preschoolers who love being silly. Take pictures with a digital camera and print the pictures to give to the guests before they leave. Make a photo frame and use paint pens to write “______’s Birthday Party” and the current year on the frame. Place a picture of child picture or a group picture in that child's frame. Another idea is a photo booth. Hang a white or black sheet on a wall. Place several photo props, such as hats, sunglasses, large empty photo frames and feather masks, on a table in front of the sheet. Have someone take pictures of the party guests wearing an assortment of the props. Print two or three pictures for each guest and mail them along with a thank you card.
- For a summer party, make towel party favors by cutting a fish shape out of fabric. Make sure the fish mouth is open and the fish is about 6- to 8-inches long. Sew the fish on a hand towel leaving the mouth open. Fill the mouth of the fish with bubbles, candy, crayons and necklaces. Hot glue a googly eye on the fish for added decoration. For a winter party, make hot cocoa party favors. Place two disposable decorating bags inside one another and fill 3/4 full with hot cocoa mix. Pour small marshmallows and chocolate chips on top of the cocoa. Tie the bag off with a bread tie and decorative ribbon. Type a homemade hot cocoa recipe on small slips of paper to attach to each favor.
