Baby Girl Announcement Ideas

When there is a new member to your family, you will want to let everyone know about your latest addition. There are many ways to announce a baby girl's birth, and nontraditional birth announcements are becoming a popular way to make the announcement memorable.

Lollipop Tealight Candle

One way to announce the birth of a baby girl is to make lollipop tealight candle announcements, which are simpler to make than they sound. You will need popsicle sticks, hot glue gun, pink spray paint, purple marker pen, pink and white 1/8-in. ribbon, white tulle and pink tealight candles in clear cups. Begin by spray painting all of the popsicle sticks pink and letting them dry. Once dry, use the hot glue to place a tealight at one end of the stick and then let completely dry. On one side of the stick, write with the marker "It's a Girl" and her birthdate. On the backside, write her name, weight and length. Cut tulle in squares big enough to wrap over the tealight, and tie just under candle with ribbon. If desired, add a small card to the lollipop or a book of matches that are printed with all of the announcement details.

Many people cannot resist a baby girl--just like they cannot resist a piece of chocolate. So, hand out pieces of chocolate wrapped in the details of your daughter's birth. Many birth announcements and invitation printing companies, such as the Candy Wrapper Store and Custom Candy Bar Wrapper, print labels that can be used to wrap around the candy bars of your choice. Custom-made wrappers can include a photo, the baby's name, her birthdate and her birth statistics for full-size or fun-size candy bars.

With everyone trying to be green these days, there are printing companies that offer invitations that can be planted in a garden. This type of botanical paper will appear like a traditional announcement, with all of the baby's statistics printed on it, but can be put in a pot of soil for a plant to grow. Another plantable announcement is one you can make with flower seeds and small envelopes. Using your computer, print out all of the baby announcement information on the envelopes. Place some seeds in small plastic bags, and seal. Put a seed bag, with instructions on how to plant, inside each envelope, and seal with a baby sticker.
