Body building is great and it is VERY addictive.
With every rep you do your desire to do "one more" increases.
The whole idea that each push up or bench press you do adds that much more muscle to your body is exciting for anyone.
But there are certain warnings you should be aware before you give it a try...
#1 - At First, Proceed SLOWLY! Most "newbies" go for the heaviest weights possible and start with those.
This is a big mistake.
Your body is just not used to that type of pressure and you can injure yourself.
Another thing is that it may not be as effective as a smaller weight.
In other words, to gain more muscle, it is better to start with a weight that you are comfortable with and where you can do more reps.
Start with the small and proceed to the harder when you master the small.
#2 - Have The Correct Form, or Your Screwed By form I mean the technique.
The way you do a workout or lift a weight.
Not only can you injure yourself if you are doing it wrong but this can also lead to deformity over time.
Your bones can form in other directions and can eventually become quite weak.
This is especially true for people that lift a lot of heavy weights.
Make sure you have the right form and don't be afraid to ask the people around you if you are doing it right.
#3 - Always diversify People tend to do only one form of exercise or workout.
Whether it be bench press, lunges, or dumbbells, one is just not enough.
You have to pull your body in as many directions as possible to balance out your efforts.
Try and do at least 5 different workouts in your routines.
Workouts that build your core, arm muscle, and legs.
People tend to forget about these warnings or even worse, know nothing about them! Make sure you understand exactly what was discussed here so that you do not waste time and effort on the wrong things.
Use weights that suit your experience, do them in the correct form, and do at least 5 different workouts.
