People are catching on to what networked TVs offer and they like it. This is according to market research firm, NPD Group's "Connected TV Owner Study." The study states that these owners are not only using the connected online services, but that they are "very satisfied" with the features available on these connected TVs.
More of those surveyed are watching movies and long form entertainment than amusing themselves with YouTube.
While fifty-seven percent of the owners report streaming Netflix Instant Que movies, only forty-seven percent watch YouTube videos.
Ross Rubin, executive director of industry analysis at The NPD Group stated in a press release,
The report also confirms that consumers are accessing media over their home network. Fifty-four percent of those surveyed said they accessed video, music, or photos from the media libraries on their home networks.
