Are You Ready to Buy a Leather Collar For Your Cat?

Leather cat collars can look very nice on your cat.
Look at the pictures on any cat or pet related website and you will see how beautiful and rich looking these collars are.
Once you purchase a collar made of leather you can add many different accessories.
Some accessories you can add are rhinestones and silver or gold cat tags engraved with for your cat's name.
But a beautiful collar is not enough.
You want to be sure to purchase of safe cat collar made out of sturdy material.
Safety should is most important.
Most collars are considered safe if they have a break away clasp.
This way if your pet snags it or gets caught in something they can easily release themselves.
My first attempt to purchase a leather collar for my cat was a bust.
But as I review more sites and adhere to my criteria I am sure it won't be long until I find a collar my cat and I can enjoy.
  • the clasp
  • wear-ability
Site # 1 Has some nice collars for cats as well as dogs.
They offer a variety of handcrafted leather collars.
I found the choice of colors and other pet accessories interesting.
However, I did not like the buckle closures.
Even though there was a safety clasp I did not recognize one from pictures on their site.
I could not tell if the material was reinforced for wear-ability and I could not find any information on the website.
Tip: Make sure you measure your cat's neck correctly for an appropriate fit.
Site # 2 This site specialized in natural leather cat collars.
Another perk is they are handmade.
This is a great added touch.
Plus the site advertises safety stretch collars.
Although I was able to see the buckle closures from the photos I could not tell whether the leather material allowed for stretch or movement.
I also could not tell if the material was reinforced.
Site # 3 This site appeared to cater to leather dog collars.
They offered plenty of collars, none of them were made of leather.
I did see a navigation link for a suede collar! This particular search for a leather collar was a bust.
Nevertheless, I am sure as I continue to search and adhere to the criteria I will find a my cat and I can enjoy.
If not, then off to the mall I go!
