- 1). Unplug the toaster oven and remove the old door. Reference the manual that came with your unit for instructions. The packaging for your replacement door may also include installation instructions. In the absence of instructions, try lifting the door up and pulling it toward you to remove it. If this does not work, slide the door to one side, lifting the opposite side; then sliding the door towards the other side and lift it up and off of the toaster oven. If neither of these methods works, look for a latch or clip that may be holding the door in place, and unfasten it to free the door. If the door is attached with a hinge, unscrew any screws attaching the hinge to the toaster oven, and save the screws. If all these methods are unsuccessful, call the manufacturer and ask them to walk you through step-by-step as to how to remove and replace the door.
Take note of how you remove the door so that you can reference the process when installing the new door. Dispose of the old door properly, so that any broken glass cannot cut someone accidentally. - 2). Prepare the new door for installation by removing any wrapping or packaging, so that it is ready to install. You may want to clean the door to remove any dust and factory chemicals before using it near food.
- 3). Install the new door. Complete the steps used to remove the old door in reverse. If you had to unscrew the hinge, use the screws you saved or any screws that are supplied to attach the new door by this means. If there was a latch fastening the old door, fasten the latch onto the new door. If you slid the door to one side and then the other to lift it out, set it in place and slide it in the reverse directions. And if you simply lifted the old door up and out, then set the new door in place.
