- 1). Open Publisher and click the "Invitation Cards" button on the bottom left of the "Available Templates" screen. Scroll through the predesigned template options or click the "All Event" folder for more shower design templates. Double-click an invitation and it opens in the Publisher workspace.
- 2). Click the cursor into the main greeting text box on the front of the invitation. The text becomes highlighted; type the new words directly over the placeholders, such as "You're Invited to Davida's Bridal Shower."
- 3). Click into the other text boxes on the invitation and replace them with party details, such as the date, time, location, if the person is registered and what to bring.
- 4). Select the "Page Design" tab at the top of the screen. Hover the cursor over the "Schemes" section of colored squares and watch how the invitation changes color designs. Click a scheme, such as all pink for a baby girl shower, and the invitation will change to your selected color scheme.
- 5). Click the "File" tab at the top of the screen. Click "Save As," type a name for the invitation and save it to the computer.
- 1). Open Paint and click the "Paint" button in the top-left corner of the screen. Click "Properties." Type the new invitation dimensions into the "Width" and "Height" boxes, such as "5" and "7" respectively. Click the "OK" button and Paint automatically resizes the workspace.
- 2). Select a colored square from the "Colors" section of the ribbon/toolbar. Choose a color that goes with the shower theme, such as one of the wedding colors. Click the "Text" tool, which looks like an "A" in the "Tools" section of the toolbar.
- 3). Click the top of the invitation, select a font and text size and type the main greeting, such as "Please Join Us for Rose & Herman's Shower!" Move lower on the invitation, reduce the font size and change font colors if desired. Type the rest of the invitation information, such as how to respond, what to bring and what to wear.
- 4). Select a new color from the "Colors" section. Click the "Fill with color" tool, which looks like a tilting paint bucket in the "Tools" section. Click the white space of the invitation, which fills with a background color.
- 5). Click the Paint button. Select "Save As," give the invitation a name and save it to the computer.
- 1). Open Word. Click the "File" tab. Select "New." Click the "Invitations" button in the middle of the "Available Templates" screen. Double-click the "Event invitations" folder. Scroll through the invitation templates and double-click an option. Within a few moments, the invitation opens in a new Word window.
- 2). Highlight the text on the main greeting of the invitation. Type over it with the custom invitation information, such as "It's a Shower for Maxine!" Type over the rest of the invitation placeholder details with information for invitees.
- 3). Click once on a placeholder graphic on the invitation and press the "Delete" key to remove it. Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the page. Click the "Clip Art" button below it. Type a word or phrase into the "Search for" box, such as "bride," "moving," "baby" or "balloons" and click "Go."
- 4). Scroll through the graphics and double-click an option, which adds the picture to the invitation. Repeat to add multiple pictures to the invitation.
- 5). Click the "File" tab and select "Save As." Type a name for the invitation. Save it to the computer.
