- 1). Increase airflow into the garage by opening the large garage doors, along with any access doors and windows. Place two large fans inside the garage, directly opposite to the large garage door. Turn the fans on and let them run for a few hours at night and again in the early morning when the temperature outside is the coolest.
- 2). Attach an awning to the side of the garage to create shade and prevent the sun from heating up the garage. Determine the location of the exterior garage wall studs and attach the awning to these studs using the hardware provided with the awning. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions to help guide you through the installation process.
- 3). Plant one or two small Norway maple trees on the south or west side of the garage by digging a hole in the ground approximately 2 feet deep and 18 inches in diameter. Remove the small tree from its container and set it into the hole. Fill the hole back in with dirt and pack the dirt in the hole tightly by stomping it down with your feet. Water the young tree by setting a running water hose on top of the hole that the tree is planted in and letting it run for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
