- 1). Connect the pool vacuum's head to the vacuum hose cuff that swivels freely. Slide the handle of the vacuum head into the opening of the pool pole until the pin clicks into place, securing the two pieces together.
- 2). Place the vacuum head onto the surface of the pool. Place all but the free end of the vacuum hose inside the pool.
- 3). Hold the free end of the hose over one of the pool system's return jets, or place a water hose down into the free end. Allow water from the jet or water hose to run into and fill the vacuum hose until the vacuum head sinks to the very bottom of the pool.
- 4). Move the vacuum hose quickly over to the skimmer. Place the hose end down into the skimmer and insert it into the skimmer hole. The pump system pulls water through the skimmer and vacuum hose, priming the vacuum.
