- 1). Lay coping on the pool edge. Walk around the entire pool and mark every 6 inches along the edge.
- 2). Drill the tek screws from the coping kit into place at the marked out areas.
- 3). Mark every 18 to 20 inches around the perimeter of the pool. Place the extra braces from the coping kit on these marked areas. Use the tek screw to screw the braces into place.
- 4). Snap the self-taping coping clips over the brace joints.
- 5). Add shims. The coping kit will come with roughly 15 to 20 wooden shims. Check that the water level is even by walking around the entire pool. If you notice an uneven water line, slide one shim beneath a piece of coping to even it out. Do not shim more than 1 inch. Fill any gaps with caulking.
- 6). Make sure that each piece of coping is still 6 inches apart and each brace is 18 to 20 inches apart. Bend the coping to fit using small, flexing motions and press it firmly against the pool walls. Tap gently with your palm or rubber mallet to ensure a tight fit. Don't be afraid to use a saw to make necessary sizing adjustments.
- 7). Completely cover the coping with the included stucco tape. This will keep the poured concrete from attaching to the coping.
- 8). Peel off the tape after the concrete is poured and strong enough to hold your weight.
