- 1). Close the shutoff valve closest to the washing machine, to stop the water flow into the machine.
- 2). Remove the inlet hose, which is located at the back of the washing machine. This can be removed by loosening the screws on the clamps that hold them firmly at the back of the machine.
- 3). Set the water temperature to warm and start a fill cycle. This will force any water traces into the drain hose.
- 4). Remove the drain hose, which typically leads into a utility sink or floor drain, the same way you removed the inlet hose. Shake out any excess water.
- 5). Unplug the power cord to the washing machine. The machine is ready to store.
