The Benefits of Having a Tent Heater

Love camping but hate the cold? Well, don't worry, get a tent heater.
What is a tent heater? Well, these are portable units that you can place in your tent or even cabin while camping.
You can also put it outside with you by a table as you play cards or just enjoying the beautiful peaceful night.
For a long time having heat while camping just came down to your sleeping bag and a campfire.
Can't have a campfire in your tent though and even if you were lucky to have electricity at the campgrounds you were at, having a space heater would be dangerous.
Now technology is advancing and other options become available.
Such as, heaters that doesn't take electricity and are safe to have INSIDE your tent.
There are different options for tent heaters, such as the Coleman BlackCat.
No cords or batteries.
Just hook up your little propane tank to the heater, turn on and get warm.
This heater only weighs 3.
75 pounds and that may not seem like it could really do anything but once you turn it on 3,000 BTU's of heat come bursting out ready to heat your tent.
While yes it's true that the possibility of a tent catching on fire, it's very limited and if you just follow two rules and use common sense you have nothing to worry about.
The rules that follow are to keep the tent, tent occupants and heater safe while in use: First, only use the heater in a well ventilated area.
It's important to have air flow since gas heaters burn oxygen, so you have to have a constant stream of fresh air.
Second keep everything around the heater away.
Tent heaters will get very hot, so you have to keep anything flammable away.
A tent heater is also not recommended for a two person and similarly small tents either.
There just isn't enough room to follow the above two rules.
When would you want to get a heater? Many campers decide not to camp in the winter because of the coldness.
The thing is, in many place the weather can be unpredictable.
It's a good idea to have a tent heater whenever you go camping in case you end up needing it.
It's better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
Why risk having an unpleasant time camping because of the cold when you can make it a family fun packed experience.
Stay warm, have the heater on.
