- If your Neptune MAH400 washing machine won't spin or water won't drain from it, make sure that the door of your washing machine is completely closed. Next, make sure that you have not blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker, which can also cause your washing machine to stop running. Straighten any kinks in the hose if your water won't drain. If your washing machine stops for no reason, try closing the door again, and turn the control knob to a cycle setting. Hit the Start/Stop button to restart the cycle. Give your door lock between 1 1/2 and 2 minutes to disengage after a cycle.
- Your washer will not fill with water if the door is even slightly open. Make sure that the dial is on the appropriate cycle and that your power cord is plugged into an active outlet. Clean any dirty filters, and remove kinks from bent hoses. If your washing machine water is the wrong temperature, make sure that both faucets are in the "On" position. Next, make sure that your water heater is working properly and that you have the correct temperature setting. If you have a lot of suds in your water, wash the clothes on the cold cycle and use less detergent.
- The tumble setting helps work the detergent into your clothing. If your washing machine won't tumble, check your fuse and circuit breaker. Make sure that you have your washing machine on the correct setting and that the control button is fully pushed in. If your washing machine is noisy, make sure that it is level and that the rubber feet are installed on it. Next, check your leveling leg lock nuts, and tighten if necessary. Make sure that you have not overloaded your washing machine.
- If you see water around your washing machine, make sure that you have completely shut the door, and use less detergent. Next, tighten your hose connections, and make sure that the hoses are installed correctly. A too wet load is indicative of either using the wrong detergent (Maytag recommends high-efficiency detergent) or that you have a load that is very small. Try using the Max Extract option on your washing machine.
