- 1). Clean out a 50-gallon pail with soapy water. Rinse out the bucket well to remove any remaining soapy residue.
- 2). Pour 5 lbs. millet, 3 lbs. soft white wheat, 5 lbs. oat groats and 5 lbs. peanut chunks into the pail.
- 3). Add 10 to 12 lbs. dehulled sunflower seed kernels to the bucket.
- 4). Pour 1 lb. food-grade diatomaceous earth, 2 lbs. wheat bran and 2 lbs. dried kelp.
- 5). Add 1 lb. dried split peas, 1 lb. lentils and 1/2 lb. kelp to the pail.
- 6). Stir the ingredients together well with your hands to ensure the chickens receive all of the ingredients in each sitting.
