How to Take Care of Your Parrot

Before you opt to have a parrot as a pet, there are things you need to prepare first.
You need to have a cage, parrot stand, newspaper or wood shavings, cuttlebone, fresh water, parrot food, fresh fruits and vegetables.
All these things are a must if you want to succeed.
We all know that a bird should be put inside a cage.
A cage should be wide enough for the bird to spread its wings fully.
It should be made of strong materials and has a large door so that the parrot can fit through it.
Parrots are very smart bird so you need to make sure that the cage you prepare is strong and big.
They will be happier if you can afford to buy the largest cage for them.
As much as possible, provide the best replica of the environment in your parrot or bird cage.
They also love to play toys so it's much better if you can give them such as a swinging perch, mirror, and even a squeaking toy.
Avoid giving toys that may be harmful to them.
The cage should be clean thoroughly at least once every three months.
Bear in mind that a parrot is a sensitive species of bird and it may never survive in a dirty and dull area.
Their life cycle will decrease if it feels stressed all the time.
A mild detergent and disinfectant should be used in cleaning their cages.
At the bottom of the cage a newspaper or a wood shaving should be placed in order for waste and dung to be easily removed.
When it comes to their food, a bowl is needed for water.
Take not that parrots need to be water-fed twice a day.
Vitamins and minerals are also necessary for the parrots.
It should be mixed either in food or water.
There are certain foods that can be included in a parrot's diet and that nuts, vegetables, grains or even soft cooked meat.
Make sure that you feed your parrots at least twice a day to ensure a healthy living pet.
To maintain your parrot's beak, a piece of cuttlebone is needed.
Putting a bath inside the cage will let the parrot enjoy.
They usually take a bath every two or three days.
Chemicals and soap is not necessary for them.
Lukewarm water will do fine.
A parrot should also be given a time to enjoy like letting him hop and fly around the area of your home.
If you have trained it to do so, you can even leave it all day long and put it back in the cage during feeding time.
Just make sure that all the windows and doors are closed for obvious reasons.
Caring for your pet parrot can be done in different ways.
Training your parrot should be made while it is still young.
You can teach him how to talk, whistle or even do some tricks.
Proper care on your parrot will give you a lifetime leisure and companionship.
