  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2008, graphic designers held close to 281,100 jobs. These designers join employees of the movie industry, video game developers and web designers as former students of computer art programs. As of 2010, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that multimedia artists and animators expect better job prospects for breaking into the movie business than the more glamorous jobs.

• Mercy College in White Plains, New York, offers a computer arts and design program that includes work at the Roy Disney Studio for Animation. Students of the school have worked in the video game, movie, animation, web design and entertainment industries. Guest lecturers and speakers have included members of Disney and Pixar animation studios. • Located in both Washington, D.C., and Waltham, Massachusetts, the Center for Digital Imaging Arts trains students for careers in digital imaging.
