Dump 3 tablespoons of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of vinegar (measurements do not have to be precise). Let sit for a few minutes. If desired, flush with hot water, but it is not necessary. The foaming action of the baking soda and vinegar will naturally deodorize your drain with the added benefit of clearing up any minor clogs. - 2). Pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain once a week. Don't worry about a salad dressing smell--the scent dissipates within seconds.
- 3). Pour 1 cup lemon juice down the drain. Unlike vinegar, which leaves no smell, lemon juice will leave a lemony scent. If your garbage disposal drain stinks, run half a lemon through the disposal and it will leave it deodorized.
