- 1). Fill out and submit the official Chaffey College application form online. In addition to new students, students who have previously attended Chaffey and have been away for one semester or more must submit an application form. International students must submit additional paperwork, including an affidavit that they have the funds to support themselves in the U.S.
- 2). Arrange for your official transcripts to be sent to Chaffey College. Students planning to attend Chaffey after high school must submit their most recent transcripts. Students who have previously attended another college or university must submit those transcripts if they want credit for prior coursework or if they will be completing a degree or certificate at Chaffey. High school students who wish to take college classes must also submit official high school transcripts.
- 3). Make an appointment to take the Accuplacer assessment test. This exam tests students' abilities in English composition, math and reading, and will help place you in the appropriate classes for your first semester. Register online for the test up to three weeks before the test date.
- 4). Visit the Counseling Department for an advising session. Counselors will: explain your Accuplacer test results; provide information about college programs; suggest classes to take in the first semester; and help you complete the required Student Educational Plan, a document in which you map out what courses you need to complete a degree program.
- 5). Register for classes. When you have completed the application process, you will receive a user ID and password for a site called ChaffeyView. On the day and time listed on your registration letter, go online and select classes.
- 6). Apply for financial aid. U.S. citizens and permanent residents can file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to apply for government grants, loans and work-study. California residents may also be eligible for grants from the state to cover the cost of student fees.
- 7). Pay all fees in full. Pay your fees online, by mail or in person. At the time of registration, you will receive notice of the payment deadline. Failure to pay in full by the deadline can result in you being dropped from classes.
