Google especially loves both blogs and Squidoo lenses, so if you can frequently provide fresh content for the search engines they will reward you with higher rankings.

Make sure that you are writing articles and submitting them on a daily basis to the main article directories such as EzineArticles and Goarticles.
These are both excellent places to submit your articles, and a good article will likely be viewed hundreds of times, which will get more blog traffic.

Make sure that you are advertising on forums that are related to the content of your blog.
If you have a blog about dog training, then find out what some of the popular forums on dog training are and post quality information on dog training in these forums.
